Photography is a family affair for Joe. He has been involved with photography since he was born. His grandfather was a very prominent photographer in Portugal, and after migrating to America, in New York City. Joe’s dad picked up the camera, taking family photos throughout Joe’s childhood days. After Joe entered the Air Force, his dad gave him a camera. Joe began to document the places that he traveled to. Joe ended up in California and joined the fire department. He took a lot of photos of firefighting, and eventually started his photography business, adding weddings, portraits, events and concerts to his portfolio. He eventually became a combat photographer, documenting events for the Air Force. He has photographed locations around the world including Antarctica, Africa, and Ground Zero where he documented two US presidents. His photography has been published in magazines and newspapers in the U.S. and around the world, as well as billboards and corporate centers. Joe has taught his wife Lizz the art of photography and secrets of success. She has equaled (and even exceeded) his work. Together they have created a business that is recognized for superior images and customer service.
Community service is an important part of Joe’s life. He has been involved with the Fire Explorer Post, pet shelters, Police and Fire Activities League, Hispanic Chamber, African American Chamber, National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and International Combat Camera Association (ICCA). He is currently a member of the Victorvalley Chamber of Commerce; Inland Empire United Way, Desert Communities division, past president and secretary, presently the chairman of the advisory council (Joe still provides photography services to the DCUW); past president of Rotary Club of Victorvalley Sunrise; incoming president of Rotary Club of the High Desert; vice president of the San Bernardino County Fair Board of Directors.
Life is like a camera; you focus on what is important, capture the good times, develop from the negative and if things don't work out you take another shot. I am so blessed to do something I love and have passion for! I had an amazing teacher who taught me that all things are possible (my husband and best friend). My background is in Human Resources; I left a fortune 500 company after 18 years to do photography full time and have never looked back. I love newborns, mommies to be, engaged couples and everyone in between. I have two amazing children and a beautiful daughter in law and have been married to my prince charming for 15 years. I am proud to say that I have won multiple awards for my photography and enjoy every aspect of the art of photography. I have always strived to find purpose in all things I do, and it's magical to capture all the moments in our clients lives and give them lasting memories for generations to come.
